About Zanzibar Revenue Authority

Zanzibar Revenue Authority (ZRA) is a premium Inland Revenue Administration Agency for the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (RGoZ). ZRA has been improving and modernizing its business processes gradually so as to meet the government collection targets by stimulating voluntary compliance to the taxpayers and facilitates business and economic growth in Zanzibar. As the ZRA core functions are assessment, collection and administration of domestic revenues of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.

Mandate of Zanzibar Revenue Authority 
Zanzibar Revenue Authority established under ZRA Act, No. 11 of 2022 which repealed Zanzibar Revenue Board Act, No. 7 of 1996 which established the former Zanzibar Revenue Board (ZRB). 

The Zanzibar Revenue Authority is a semi autonomous agency of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (RGoZ) with the main duties of enhancing efficiency, transparency and accountability in administering and collection of Government Inland revenue.
